Switch to Italian 🇮🇹

My artistic and professional life started as an actor on stage; after a number of years working with Italian and foreign directors I decided to start my own company, Effetto Larsen, to develop a research project based on questioning its own standards. For many years I placed theatre didactics side by side with my stage work and in the meantime I developed a passion for and started to train in strategic communication, problem solving and emotional behavioral coaching.

Human relations have always been at the centre of my work while embarking on an original research path based on a continuous confrontation with the reality we live in. I try to constantly learn and grown and since 2013 I have been creating and directing site-specific, hands-on artistic projects internationally. I have been part of the European network In Situ, ddedicated to art in public spaces since 2015.

Also in 2015, I received an invitation to develop educational initiatives for companies. It was the beginning of a new journey for me and for the theatre company because we realised that our skills and talents had a value even in non-artistic contexts. We started with team activities and experiential learning and we soon broadened our offering by including facilitation, communication strategies, consultancy and creation of innovative content. By always putting people and their objectives at the centre, we learnt to bring beauty and the ability to listen to the companies we collaborate with.

Together with my collaborators, I found myself creating a business model that sees our presence both within the world of performing arts and large businesses. Drawing from both world, showing influences from both, dealing with new and different interlocutors enriches our journey immensely and allows our research to be free from constraints.

I realise that in time I have mainly developed an ability to facilitate and manage shared projects, whether they are a performance, an installation, a business meeting or communication strategies, my task is always to listen to the people involved and make sure that all flows smoothly and in the right direction.

During my journey I have been lucky to meet incredible travel companions with whom I have developed a deep friendship. I am curious by nature and a sponge for information; observing the reality around me often gives me ideas that I then look forward to developing with the other members of the theatre company. I like to have fun at work and if by chance I lose my sense of humour I know I am on the wrong path. When eyes sparkle, I know I am on the right track.

When people ask me what I do for a living I am always in front of a choice: spend some time to explain or simply say that my job is to connect people.
